GF World Cup 2011
For the seventh consecutive year the world's eight best women's national handball teams converged in Aarhus for the GF World Cup.
Regrettably, the Danish team will not be able to look back on this year's tournament with much joy. This was only the second time in the history of the tournament that the Danish team didn't qualify for the finals round.
Despite Danish victory over Sweden, defeats to Russia and Spain resulted in the team’s early exit from the tournament, to the intense disappointment of the Danish fans in the arena and at home in front of their televisions.
This year's tournament was won by Russia, defeating Norway in the final.
