World Standard Championship 2009
Seventy-one of the world's best Standard dancer couples took the floor to compete for the World Standard Championship which was held on 28 November 2009 before nearly 3,000 spectators in a packed NRGi Arena.
The new World champions were the German top-ranking couple Benedetto Ferruggia and Claudia Köhler. In second place came the Italian couple Andrea Ghigiarelli and Sara Andracchio, while the bronze medals were won by the Danish champions Emanuel Valeri and Tania Kehlet of Aarhus Sport Dance Association.
Aarhus Sport Dance Association and IDSF, the International Dance Sport Federation, were the organisers of this event in cooperation with Sport Event Danmark, Sport Aarhus Events, the Danish Dance Sports Federation, and the Nordea Bank as main sponsor.
